Wombats at Bendeela, NSW

Day Trip From: Sanctuary Point
December 2020

Bendeela Recreation Area is a campsite run by Water NSW, which just so happens to be a place where a lot of wombats live. All you need to do in order to see the wombats is turn up at the camping area just before it goes dark and wait for them to appear (outside of the busy holiday season if possible).

We went for a visit on a Wednesday evening after work and it took around 1.25 hours to get there from Sanctuary Point. The wombats were very obliging and emerged from their burrows at the appropriate time.
