Aileron is about 130km north of Alice Springs and we stopped there for 40 minutes on our way from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs.

Aileron is not actually a town, it’s a roadhouse and campsite – but we stopped there because there are a couple of famous sculptures (Anmatjere Man and Anmatjere Woman and Child), and also a great big sign saying ‘Aileron’ on top of a hill. Yes, we can’t get enough of great big letters spelling out place names.
