While we were visiting my sister LB in Doreen we took a day trip to do some short walks in the Dandenong Ranges – an area of rolling hills with patches of temperate rain forest.

It took about an hour to get from Doreen to Sherbrooke Picnic Ground for the start of our first walk there – the Sherbrooke Loop (about 5km, including a minor detour to Sherbrooke Falls)

After lunch we drove for 10 minutes and arrived at the RJ Hamer Arboretum. We then walked the RJ Hamer Arboretum Loop (also about 5km).
