Aldinga Beach, SA
We had booked the month of February in Aldinga Beach as a place for CC to recover from her second leg surgery, as we had stayed in the same airbnb for three months in 2024 during CC’s recovery from the first operation on her leg – and also many times since (this was our FIFTH stay here)
We chose it because it had a walk-in shower, an ensuite bathroom, an extra bedroom (for me to sleep in so that I didn’t accidentally kick CC’s wound in the night), and no stairs. It was also close to a nice concrete coastal walking path for CC to walk slowly along on her crutches.
Unfortunately, the operation got postponed by ten days and so only FOUR days of CC’s recovery actually took place here, and we had to move while CC was on crutches.
The garden was not as pleasant as in previous visits (we also spent February here last year), because a lot of mosquitoes had appeared – and they seemed to be around at all times of the day. Sadly, the death of ‘Pescado’ the fish in September meant that the bird bath / fish pond had become a mosquito breeding ground.
The good
- Back in our usual Aldinga Beach spot
The not so good
- CC’s leg surgery was postponed
- We had to move out only four days after CC’s leg surgery
- Lots of mosquitoes in the garden
