Coffin Bay National Park was about a one hour drive from our base in Port Lincoln. A lot of the park is accessible by 4WD drive only, so we spent most of our time in the Yangie Bay area which is the main area with 2WD access.

Our first walk was the Yangie Bay Hike – a 2km loop walk via Yangie Lookout. After coffee, we then set off on the Yangie Island Hike which goes to the mouth of Yangie Bay and back (6km return). For the first part of this walk we had to walk part of the Yangie Bay Hike again and so we were at Yangie Lookout for the second time.

Our next stop was Golden Island Lookout about a ten minute drive away. From the lookout we did a short walk along the cliffs and to the nearby beach.

We then drove another five minutes to the end of Point Avoid road, where there was a very short walk to the edge of some cliffs.

From there we drove back to Port Lincoln stopping at a few viewpoints along the way. The whole park seemed to be full of emus, and we even saw some baby ones.
