Coober Pedy, SA
Aug 2021 - 1 day
It was a 650km drive from Curtin Springs (NT) to Coober Pedy (SA), and it was our last border crossing during the COVID-19 pandemic. We had duly filled in and submitted our paperwork to be allowed to cross from the Northern Territory to South Australia.
We entered South Australia at around 11am – but found out later that they had actually closed the border that same day at around 4pm. We felt that we had been quite lucky – the border ended up being closed for four days due to a minor COVID-19 outbreak in the Katherine area.
In Coober Pedy we stayed in the same place as last time (Venushill B&B) – where again we opted for the cheaper outside ‘dongas’ rather than the underground rooms.
