Bungonia National Park is 40km from Goulburn, and we visited the park on Christmas Day.

The weather was pretty cold and overcast for summer, but it stayed dry and we were in the park for seven hours. Some of the trails were quite steep and overgrown, but they were well marked and there were viewing platforms overlooking the valleys.

We followed the route of the circular ‘green’ track (7km), with side trips down the ‘yellow’ track (5km return), the ‘orange’ track (2km return), and to Mount Ayre Lookout (minor detour down the ‘white track’) – so about 15km of walking in total.
