Busselton Jetty, WA
Day Trip From: Palmyra, Perth
February 2024
February 2024
We stopped in Busselton on the way from Perth to Margaret River to check out the famous timber jetty. The jetty is famous because it is the ‘longest timber piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere’.
It actually costs $4 for a ‘Jetty Day Pass’ to walk along the jetty, except when the office is closed (open 8.30am – 5.15pm) in which case it’s free. But also you can’t walk right to the end of the jetty except between 9am and 4pm. Confused yet? Anyway, we were there in the afternoon and so we paid our fees and walked the 1.8km length of the jetty and back.
In case you were wondering, Southend Pier (in the UK) at 2.16km long is the only longer ‘timber piled jetty’ in the world.
