Illuminate Adelaide is a yearly event featuring ‘art, light, music, and technology’. It has been held every winter since 2021 and consists of various art installations in the streets of Adelaide. The installations all feature light of some kind and it runs every evening for around a month.

We ventured out on a very cold Friday evening to check out the free installations – which were called ‘City Lights’ (the festival also includes some paid ticketed light shows). The installations were spread along North Terrace, and there was a ‘roving horse show’ (my words) and some fire pits at the end of Rundle Street.

As the eastern end of North Terrace was only around 3km from our base in Parkside, we did the whole outing as one big walking loop of around 12km.
