Mambray Creek, SA
Day Trip From: Port Augusta
April 2021
April 2021
Mambray Creek is part of Mount Remarkable National Park in the Flinders Ranges and it was just under an hour’s drive from our base in Port Augusta. As it was the Saturday of the Easter Weekend it was pretty busy when we arrived.
We started off by walking the Daveys Gully Hike (2.5km loop) – which had some views of the Spencer Gulf.
After completing that, we walked the Mambray Valley Hike (8km return) – which was mostly along the valley floor, but with a loop bit at the end up to Sugar Gum Lookout (a viewpoint overlooking the park).
The Mambray Valley Hike turned out to be a great walk for emu-spotting and we saw quite a few of them as we were walking the trail.
