Olive Pink Botanic Garden, NT
Day Trip From: Alice Springs

It was only a 20 minute walk to Olive Pink Botanic Garden from where we were staying in Alice Springs and we went there twice after work to look for rock wallabies and go bird-spotting.
The Botanic Garden is famous for its population of black-footed rock wallabies which live in the rocks on a hill behind the cafe. There was a walking trail to the top of this hill that had some good views of the area. We also saw the rock wallabies both times that we visited.
After checking out the wallabies we had a bit of a wander around the rest of the gardens and we managed to spot quite a few birds – including a western bowerbird for the first time.
