The Pinnacles, WA
October 2023
The Pinnacles are an area of natural limestone structures in Nambung National Park, which are famous in Western Australia because they are quite a unique and striking feature consisting of thousands of ‘pinnacles’ – which are rocks sticking out of the barren dessert terrain.
We stopped for a visit on the morning that we left Cervantes to head back towards Perth. We had been there previously in 2016 when we had clear blue skies. This time we had a very overcast day and they didn’t look quite as impressive as we remembered (or maybe it was because it was the second time)
We had a bit of excitement at the start, when a very large snake blocked the path to get there. Luckily it turned out to be a harmless Carpet Python, and it also decided to slither away.
