Esperance, WA
Esperance is 700km from Perth and 2200km from Adelaide, and it was our last stay before driving back across the Nullarbor to South Australia.
We stayed in a guest room which was part of a large suburban house and had been converted to have its own kitchen, bathroom and private entrance – which was accessed by going down an alley down the side of the house and in through a patio door.
The house was in the suburb of West Beach, only a couple of minutes walk from the ocean and around a 40 minute walk to get to the centre of Esperance. As well as the beach being nearby, we were also close to Dempster Head, a coastal headland with a few walking trails – so we were never short of good scenery when we went for after-work walks.
During our stay we visited Cape Le Grand National Park, and also drove the Great Ocean Drive – a 40km circuit starting and finishing in Esperance.
The good
- Extremely close to beach and walking trails
- Cape Le Grand National Park
The not so good
- Esperance centre not that exciting
- Local brewery not close enough to walk to (so we didn’t go)
