Lysterfield Lake and Churchill National Park are right next to each other and it took us just over an hour to get there from Doreen.

Our first stop was Lysterfield Lake and we followed the Lake Circuit Trail (6km loop). By the time that we finished the trail it was lunchtime and we had a picnic lunch by the lake before we drove for about 15 minutes to reach the car park in Churchill National Park.

From there we combined a bunch of tracks (the Army Track, the North Boundary Track, the Ridge Track, the Stonemasons Track, and Syphon walk) to create a 5km loop walk around the park.

On the way around the loop we also took a detour (about 2km return) up to Lysterfield Hill Lookout (which was technically in Lysterfield Park) for some views over Melbourne.
