One Mile Beach and Burgess Beach, NSW
February - March 2021
One Mile Beach was only 10 minutes walk from our place in Forster, and we went there numerous times.
At the start of the beach there was a giant, fairly steep sand dune – which was ideal for running down at high speed. We often went for a work break to run down the sand dune and then go back to work.
In the evenings after work, we often walked to the far end of the beach and back. When the weather was a bit wild and windy, the beach was pretty much deserted (yes, the way we like it!), and sometimes there would be dolphins swimming in the large waves.
If we had enough time, we would continue on to Burgess Beach by following the rocky shoreline past the end of One Mile Beach. It tended to be fairly quiet out there, as it was on the far edge of town at the bottom of some steep cliffs.
