Tennant Creek, NT
Jun 2021 - 1 day
Tennant Creek was the first place that we spent the night on the 1500km journey from Alice Springs to Darwin. It was pretty much 500km of empty outback all the way there – the main exception being Karlu Karlu (the Devils Marbles) – an area famous for its striking granite boulders. We stopped there for about an hour.
We also stopped at a monument marking the highest point on the Stuart Highway, and for an obligatory photo at the Tropic of Capricorn.
In Tennant Creek we stayed at the Safari Lodge Motel. We came prepared with food and beers, and so we didn’t leave the motel after we had checked in for the night.
