Two Peoples Bay Nature Reserve, WA

Day Trip From:
March 2024

Two Peoples Bay Nature Reserve is just under an hour from Albany and we headed over on a cloudy Saturday morning to check it out.

When we arrived, we stopped briefly at the unstaffed visitor centre and then headed off on the Baie des Deux Peuples Heritage Trail (Yes, that’s French for Two Peoples Bay). The trail is 5km return and goes to Little Beach and back via some viewpoints and some really nice coastal scenery. We also took an unofficial detour down to a place that seemed to be called South Point.

It was a windy overcast morning and the trail was pretty much empty until we arrived at Little Bay – which has a car park, and so was suddenly full of people. By this point the sun was out and we had a picnic lunch overlooking the beach.

There is an alternative trail back for part of the way which goes along the shore. We went along this trail for a short while, but turned back as it was only walkable at low tide.
