Goolwa Beach, SA
It had been three years since our last stay in Goolwa Beach, and after seven weeks of short stays and sightseeing in WA plus the long drive across the Nullarbor, it was good to spend some time in the same place just working and going for walks on the 13km long beach just around the corner.
We stayed in a purpose-built unit that had been constructed next to the main house of the owner, but that had been separated with a fence and its own driveway. It was a fairly recent build and so it was well insulated from the cold weather that is common in April in Goolwa Beach.
We didn’t do much during our first two weeks except for a trip out to nearby Victor Harbor – but during the last week that we were there we had a visit from our friends who had driven over from NSW in a camper van. During their visit we went on day trips to a couple of the places that we had enjoyed the first time that we were here – such as The Bluff, and Port Elliot.
We had to move to a new place in Port Willunga during our friends’ visit – so we made a day of it – with brunch in Port Elliot, followed by wine-tasting in Willunga on the way to our new place which was about an hour’s drive away.
