Onkaparinga River National Park is about 12km long and straddles the area on both sides of the Onkaparinga River. At the eastern end of the park the river is in a deep gorge.

We went to the park quite a few times as there were a lot of different areas and trails to walk. During our shorter visits we walked the Sun­dews Ridge Hike (4km), the Chapel Hill Look­out Loop (1.5km), and the Hardy’s Scrub Hike (4km).

We also went once for a full day trip to walk the Gorge Hike (6km, grade 4)
