Port Willunga, SA
We were back in Port Willunga for our longest stay so far – 67 days in a row. As we had already stayed in this same accommodation for 32 days, it meant that we spent 99 days in total in the same place in Port Willunga – with a 12 day break inbetween.
Our plan was to stay there until the state/territory borders were open again after COVID-19. We would then start heading towards New South Wales.
We spent a lot of our time eating and drinking and we went beer and wine tasting in McLaren Vale and Willunga – taking our first trip on a bus since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
The nearby beach was a breeding area for endangered hooded plovers, and we saw them quite a few times – we even saw some chicks just after they had hatched.
As it was such a long stay, we spent a fair bit of time just relaxing on our balcony and going for short walks nearby. We also discovered the Goodieson Brewery – which did a delicious coffee stout that CC very much enjoyed drinking on her birthday.
We also went again to some of the places that we had enjoyed visiting during our previous stay – including Onkaparinga River National Park, where we did the Gorge Hike.

The not so good
