Aldinga Beach, SA

Jan / Mar 2025 - 32 days

CC was continuing her recovery from surgery and had a follow up medical appointment booked in February – so we needed to stay in the Adelaide metro area and decided to just spend the month hanging out by the ocean.

As the school holidays were over it was safe to return to Aldinga Beach – so we contacted the owner of our last stay directly and went back to the same location where we spent three months before Christmas.

I went back to play badminton, CC went back to her old swimming place, and we went for walks along the seafront. Other than that we didn’t do a lot.

One exciting development had occurred in our absence – the hooded plover chicks had all got older and there was now a group of about fifteen of them that we regularly saw on the beach. This was by far the most hooded plovers that we had ever seen at once.

The good

  • Big group of hooded plovers on the beach
  • Swimming and badminton
  • Back in our beachside ‘home’ area
  • Great accommodation with nice outside space

The not so good

Mosquitos now present in the garden
