Berri, SA

Berri – with a population of around 5000 people – was the closest big town to Barmera. It was a 20 minute drive away, so technically you might say that we never went for a ‘day trip’ there – but we there went lots of times for various reasons.

The most common reason was to walk around Martin’s Bend Reserve, which was a better and longer after work walk than along the lakeshore at Barmera.

Other reasons that we went there were: shopping, visiting the Tourist Information centre, buying ice-cream, getting a COVID-19 booster vaccination, and having a picnic by the river.
