Berry Springs Nature Park is about a 20 minute drive from Humpty Doo, and we went there most weeks during our stay in the top end to indulge in the natural open-air swimming holes that it is famous for.

It tended to be quite a busy place and so we usually timed our visits to go during the last hour that it was open (5.30pm – 6.30pm) – as a lot of people had already gone home by then.

As well as the bathing pools, there was a 1km loop trail that we sometimes walked before swimming if we decided that the pools were too crowded.
