Cascades walk – Litchfield NP, NT
June 2021
We went twice to visit Litchfield National Park, and the Cascades walk was the longest walk that we did during our two visits.
Unfortunately the day that we went was a public holiday and so it was actually pretty busy. Because there were pools at the top that you can swim in, there were quite a few people hiking this trail – and also complaining about how long it was…
Although the number of people bathing at the top somewhat detracted from the views of the water pools – it was still quite a scenic walk and it was possible to get some views of the pools without people in them.
The walk was in two parts – the Upper Cascades walk which went up on to the tabletop area and was around 3.5km return, and the Lower Cascades walk along the creek which was around 2.5km return.
We started at about 11.15am and had done both the walks by 2pm.
