Murray River National Park, SA

Murray River National Park is spread out along the banks of the Murray River in a few different sections – two of which were a short drive from Barmera.

We went to the closest section one afternoon after work (Kai Kai nature trail and Craggs Hut Trail) and then for a day trip to another section to walk the Ngak Indau trail and the Rodeo trail, which was a 9km loop. There was a bird hide on the Ngak Indau trail and we saw a Nankeen Night Heron for the first time (sorry no photo…), but the wildlife highlight for CC was a beautiful frog which she named ‘Banjo’.
