Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve, ACT

Day Trip From: Braddon, Canberra
May 2022

Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve is located about 40 minutes from Canberra, and we went out there for a day trip to do some of the walks in the reserve.

The most famous walk in the reserve is the walk up to Gibraltar Peak, which is around 8km return with about 300m of vertical ascent/descent each way. From the peak there are views out across the mountains and towards Canberra. We did this walk first, and then headed over to the Cascades and Lyrebird loop walks, which are flat walks around a fenced reserve area. On these walks we found a bandicoot and a musk duck.
