Warren Gorge, SA

Day Trip From: Port Augusta
April 2021

Warren Gorge is 21km from the town of Quorn and is famous for being the home of some yellow-footed rock wallabies.

Because the wallabies are mostly active at dawn and dusk we headed over there after our walk in Dutchmans Stern Conservation Park – which was only a 20 minute drive away.

There was a 5km loop walk starting from the campsite in the gorge, and as we arrived at about 3pm we walked this trail first while we were waiting for the rock-wallabies to come out.

Back at the campsite we went to look for the rock wallabies, and we weren’t disappointed – the wallabies were quite easy to spot in the cliffs nearby.
