Geelong, VIC
We spent the night in Geelong as we were taking the ferry to Tasmania the following morning. The motel where we stayed was a pleasant 30 minute walk along the coast to the centre of Geelong, and so after work we went for a stroll and headed into the centre in search of food and drink. This was a pretty successful mission as we had curry puffs and custard filled Japanese bun for snacks, found two craft breweries, and then rounded it off with dinner in a pub style place 10 minutes from our motel.
An added bonus was the presence of ‘Geelong Bollards’ along the way. These bollards were created in the nineties by artist Jan Mitchell and made out of old wharf pylons. They represent different characters drawn from the history of Geelong. We really liked them and took too many photographs 🙂
