Hamilton Hill, Perth, WA
Hamilton Hill was a long seven week stay for CC, but I only spent two weeks there as I went overseas for five weeks during that time.
We stayed in a one-room granny flat which had been constructed in the garden of our Airbnb hosts. The hosts were very friendly and they invited us in for a glass of wine during the first week that we stayed.
Manning Park was a 10 minute walk away and it had a lake with a 30 minute loop trail and lots of water birds. There was also a big hilly bushland area with many tracks to walk along. We went to this park a lot for after-work walks, and it was possible to continue out of the back of the park to reach CY O’Connor beach on the coast. It was also possible to walk to Fremantle in around an hour.
While I was away, CC went for a massive 32km walk to Cottesloe and back, as well as going to Subiaco, Bibra Lake, Fremantle, and Perth.
The good
- Manning Park nearby
- Pink-eared duck sighting
- Supermarkets within walking distance
- Fremantle within walking distance
The not so good
- Very small place to stay for such a long time
- Not much in Hamilton Hill
- Quite a lot of cold and rainy days
