The Waitpinga Cliffs are in Newland Head Conservation Park and can be reached by walking along the coast from The Bluff near Victor Harbor. Much of the track follows the route of the long-distance Heysen Trail, and so it is possible to continue along the cliffs and get all the way to Waitpinga Beach (around 14km away)

For our walk, we went to the first viewpoint on the cliffs – which was around 5km from The Bluff. We then retraced our steps back to The Bluff.

We decided that at some point in the future we would start from Waitpinga Beach and walk to the same viewpoint from the other direction. By doing this we would complete the whole stretch.

UPDATE: In September 2021 we did the walk starting from Waitpinga Beach – but we didn’t make it to the same viewpoint, meaning that there remained an unwalked section…

UPDATE: In October 2025 we finally walked the unwalked section and completed the Waitpinga Cliffs.
