Adelaide and Waite Conservation Reserve, SA
During our stay in Goolwa Beach we went to visit Adelaide twice. Port Willunga is even closer to Adelaide, and so we ended up in the city a few times during this stay as well.
One visit was on my own to ‘Honda Formula Glen Osmond’ for a car service, and while I was wandering around all day at random waiting for them to finish the service, I stumbled into the Waite Conservation Reserve next to the University of Adelaide.
The Waite Conservation Reserve is ‘one of the largest and best surviving examples of Grey Box Grassy Woodland in South Australia’, and it was an uphill climb to the top of the reserve – at which point I went a bit rogue and took a bunch of steep shortcuts – coming out in a random suburban area so that I could make a loop back to Glen Osmond.
Another time when we both went, we explored the East End of Adelaide and found a nice Afghan cafe for a delicious lunch.
