Cleland Conservation Park, SA

Day Trip From: Glenalta, Adelaide
January 2022

This was another day out to a Conservation Park near our base in Glenalta. We picked a few trails in the park and joined them together to make a circuit.

Being a public holiday, and being so close to Adelaide, the trail started out quite busy on the Chambers Gully Track. But after a few hours we got some peace and tranquility along the Wine Shanty Trail, which is named after an old cottage nearby which acted as a ‘pub’ for ‘Tiersmen’ in the olden days. Tiersmen were escaped convicts who hid up in the Adelaide Hills. Needless to say we didn’t find any remaining… 🙂
