Nightcliff, Darwin, NT
Nightcliff was the suburb of Darwin that we visited the most times.
One of the reasons for this was that it was close to Rapid Creek markets – a place where we formed an addiction to the Asian food served from the stalls there. The laksa was the best, and in fact Darwin is actually famous for good laksa (there is a laksa festival held there every year).
Another reason to visit Nightcliff was its shoreline, nearby Casuarina beach, and also Dripstone cliffs – all of which provided plenty of coastal walking opportunities.
Each trip out to Nightcliff therefore involved lunch, some walking, and some bird-spotting.
