Mount Lawley, Perth, WA
Mount Lawley was our first stay in WA after crossing the Nullarbor. We had a unit in the suburb of Mount Lawley – apparently one of the ‘hippest’ in Perth. It had a lot of cafes and restaurants and was only around 45 minutes walk from Perth CBD.
We had one weekend and an Easter Monday to explore Perth and we took a couple of very long walks around the suburbs to see what was what. During these walks we visited Perth CBD, the Botanic Gardens, Northbridge, Subiaco, and North Perth.
Mount Lawley was also not very far from the river – so after work we had a few strolls in the river parklands and also went to the suburbs of Maylands and Inglewood.
We had one day out in the car and we drove up to visit Burns Beach and Trigg Beach for a bit of a coastal stroll.
The good
- Walkable to Perth CBD
- Saw our first Carnaby’s Black Cockatoo
- Good location for after work walks
- Walkable to craft beer and good coffee places
The not so good
- Coastal walk was underwhelming after South Australia
